Sana Khan was born in New York City and was raised in Phoenix, Arizona where she currently resides. She has enjoyed drawing since she was a child. However, in high school, she temporarily stopped drawing and only took one art class in those four years. In the first two years of college, her major was environmental sciences. She attended Northern Arizona University for one semester, but after the COVID-19 pandemic, she transferred to Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) because it was closer to home. It was not until recently, in 2022, that she changed her major to art, and her passion for drawing was rediscovered. Subjects for her drawings are usually still lifes and abstract designs. She primarily utilizes dry mediums, such as graphite, charcoal, pastel, and colored pencils. Although she has more experience with 2D art, she is also exploring other media such as ceramics and digital photography. In spring 2024, she was accepted into the Artists of Promise Competition exhibition and exhibited a drawing at the PVCC gallery in March/April. The Artists of Promise is a showcase of the best of the Maricopa Community Colleges Arts programs in all artforms and media. The jurors selected 44 artworks from 283 submitted by 90 student artists amongst the 10 colleges in the Maricopa Community Colleges District. She graduated with an Associate in Arts, Fine Arts, with an Emphasis in Art degree at Paradise Valley Community College in spring 2024.
